The MBA is based on a general management course. The target group of an MBA program are executives or prospective executives who would like to acquire general business knowledge and leadership skills in addition to their specialist knowledge. MBA candidates want to acquire a degree in a relatively short period of time. The PhD focuses on the dissertation. With the PhD, attendance at university is hardly necessary. In this respect, the word "study" is also somewhat ambiguous. The doctorate is the adacemic scientific highlight if you do not want to work as a professor - which would require a habilitation. By the way, this is unusual in the USA and therefore the PhD is the highest academic honour there.

The funding spectrum is broad and highly diverse. There are hardly any fixed state subsidies except for tax deductibility for all expenses (travel expenses, books, etc.) and tuition fees. It is highly recommended talking to your tax advisor about this. The IfM will be happy to assist you.

Maybe a full-time study, but this is hardly possible besides the job. You would have to take educational leave, which leads to a career interruption. The MBA is the best in-service training for your success!
